How to get there

From outside of Quebec City

For student participants traveling from outside of Quebec City, transportation and accommodation costs will be refunded under certain conditions.

By car

We strongly encourage carpooling between members from the same city or university to attend the symposium and/or the INAF Ball. We will match drivers and passengers interested in carpooling via the registration form (we will contact you in this regard).

Carsharing (Communauto) is widely available in the Quebec City area.

Reimbursement terms :

  • Gas cost will be fully refunded upon presentation of the receipt.
  • Parking tickets may be reimbursed.

By train

Every day, VIA Rail Canada connects several municipalities to Quebec City's two train stations, Gare de Sainte-Foy and Gare du Palais. The campus of Université Laval can then be reached via the Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC).

  • From Gare de Sainte-Foy : RTC 76 → RTC 800, 801 (about 25 min).
  • From Gare du Palais : RTC 800 (about 30 min).

By coach

Orléans Express serves several Quebec cities, including Sainte-Foy and downtown Quebec City. To get to the Université Laval campus from these two stations:

  • Gare d’autocar de Sainte-Foy : RTC 800, 801, 13 (about 20 min).
  • Gare du Palais bus terminal: RTC 800 (about 30 min).

Service des résidences de l’Université Laval

Superior university rooms will be available for participants in the INAF Student Symposium and INAF Winter Ball (nights of February 19-20 and February 20-21, 2025). Located directly on campus, university rooms are a practical and affordable option for a pleasant stay in Quebec City.

Costs incurred will be refunded subsequently (see the Refund section at the end of the page).

Following the Symposium, you will have one month to submit your request for reimbursement to Josée Vaillancourt (Josee.Vaillancourt@fsaa.ulaval.ca), indicating the following elements:

  • Place of residence
  • Date of travel
  • Reason for travel
  • Place (address) and time of departure
  • Place (address) and time of arrival
  • Number of actual kilometres travelled
  • In case of carpooling, in order to benefit from the $0.65 per kilometre allowance, the name(s) of the person(s) accompanying the staff member using his/her personal vehicle
  • Specimen cheque
